Viking River Class Of 2019
Happening now, the 2019 Viking River Cruises Christening in Basel, Switzerland. Here, new Viking Longships will be launched including Viking Einar. After the ceremony, we will sample the latest from Viking River Cruises on a short mini-cruise. Before, during and after the live Viking event, look here for everything. First, some background.
VIKING RIVER HISTORY SINCE 2012
- In 2012, we were in Amsterdam as Viking christened four ships in one day.
- We went back to Amsterdam for the launch of ten Viking River Cruise longships in 2013.
- In May of 2013, it was off to Los Angeles and the Beverly Hilton Hotel for a much-anticipated announcement from Viking River Cruises. Viking Star and Viking Ocean Cruises were born.
- 2014 brought 16 ships christened over two days and a place in the Guinness Book of World Records
- 2015, a dozen more Viking Longships
- You get the idea. For our purposes here: Seven years later, Viking is still in a class of its own that no one else has emulated.
Also significant, the seven new Viking Longships of 2019:
I could keep going in either direction with much more on the rich history of Viking Cruises.
