- Pier extension to accommodate two ships simultaneously
- Diversified beach areas for both families and adults
- Expansion of dining facilities and specialty restaurants
- Hands-on marine conservation and coral restoration programs
MSC Cruises has announced an extensive renovation project for its private Bahamian destination, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, with completion scheduled for late 2027. A primary focus of the expansion is the enhancement of the island’s infrastructure, specifically the extension of the existing pier. This structural upgrade will allow the reserve to accommodate two cruise ships at the same time, potentially increasing the daily guest capacity significantly.

The development plan introduces several new recreational and leisure zones tailored to different traveler demographics. For families, the Seakers Cove area will be upgraded to include a dedicated playground, a splash pad, and a ropes course featuring water elements alongside traditional games like foosball. Conversely, the cruise line is developing Paradise Sands, which will serve as an exclusive beach retreat specifically for adult guests. The project also includes an increase in the total number of cabanas available for rent across the island.
Dining options are set to expand through the addition of four new venues. These will range from a signature specialty restaurant to new buffet areas and food market concepts. Beyond leisure and dining, MSC is incorporating an educational component through the MSC Foundation. These shifting perspective experiences will allow visitors to engage in hands-on marine conservation efforts, such as coral restoration projects and interactive sessions focused on ocean ecosystems. These initiatives align with the island’s designation as a marine reserve and aim to foster environmental awareness among guests while they visit the destination.
