Norwegian Cruise Line Adds Solo Staterooms

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is expanding its solo stateroom offerings to nearly 1,000 across its entire 19-ship fleet, including the all-new Norwegian Viva. This expansion comes in response to the growing popularity of solo travel, with nearly 18% of global bookings in the travel industry made up of solo travelers.

Beginning this week, NCL will open for sale three new solo stateroom categories: Solo Inside, Solo Oceanview, and Solo Balcony. These staterooms are priced less than a traditional double occupancy room, and guests who stay in them will also have access to the key card entry only Studio Lounge on select ships. This lounge offers a dedicated space to relax, a bar with beer and wine, and daily snacks. Solo cruisers will also have access to activities scheduled specifically for single travelers.

With this expansion, solo cruisers will have more opportunities to visit bucket-list worthy destinations such as Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand on vessels which historically have not had this unique offering.

NCL is committed to providing guests with diverse offerings to create their dream vacation, and this expansion of solo staterooms is a reflection of that commitment. It also shows that NCL is listening to its guests and responding to their needs.
