She came in from the North Sea, backing into docking position in front of the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal about 2PM Thursday where Holland America Line’s ms Koningsdam would be officially names.  In advance of a ceremony featuring Netherlands Queen Maxima and assorted dignitaries, we learned that this is a part of the world with deep roots in maritime history.  That thought was present as I watched Koningsdam come to Rotterdam from high atop the Hotel New York, former headquarters for Holland America Line.  More on the hotel shortly.  First, some scenes from our Koningsdam Arrives gallery:
