Holland America Adds New Legendary Voyage

Holland America Line is introducing a new “Legendary Voyage” called the “42-day Ultimate Mediterranean & Atlantic Passage” aboard the ship Volendam. Departing on November 9, 2024, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this cruise allows guests to visit 16 different ports across nine countries in the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions without the need for international air travel.

The inspiration for this voyage comes from a similar journey the cruise line operated nearly 100 years ago in 1925, which explored many of the same ports across the Atlantic Ocean.

The itinerary includes visits to Portugal, Morocco, Italy, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, Gibraltar (United Kingdom), and Spain. The cruise offers in-depth explorations of each destination and provides specially curated shipboard programming to educate guests about the history and culture of the places visited.

Holland America Line’s “Legendary Voyages” are lengthier cruises ranging from 25 to 59 days, focused on a singular region, and offering unique port experiences. Most of these voyages sail roundtrip from North American homeports, making it convenient for travelers to embark on their journey without extensive international flights.
