International Travel Rebounds Quickly for Grandparents

Road Scholar, a leader in educational travel for older adults, is experiencing a rapid rebound in international travel demand for their Grandparent Adventure programs.

Despite having less capacity available due to rebuilding offerings post-pandemic, Road Scholar’s international Grandparent Programs are almost back to pre-pandemic numbers. This year, the appetite for global exploration is stronger than ever, with participants and their grandkids eager to travel abroad. Responding to this trend, Road Scholar is adding more international programs for 2024, with two-thirds of the new Grandparent and Family programs being international, and they are filling up quickly.

Travelers like Cindy and Jim Horner from Colorado and Jean McMillan from New York emphasize the importance of exposing their grandkids to different cultures and experiences through international trips. Road Scholar has been offering skip-gen and Family Programs since 1985, and the demand for these educational adventures remains high.

Road Scholar is the nation’s largest not-for-profit educational travel organization for adults — a true university of the world — offering thousands of programs in nearly 100 countries and 50 states. Road Scholar educational adventures are created by Elderhostel, the world leader in educational travel since 1975. Road Scholar has been offering programs for grandparents and their grandkids since 1985. Learn more at www.roadscholar.org/about
