Cruise Line Discounted Deposit Deal Drives Dreams

In celebration of 145 years of their Dutch traditions and King’s Day in the Netherlands,  Holland America Line has a one day only deal coming up on April 27.  A new promotion will allow Holland America Line guests to start their new adventure for a $1 deposit. The discounted deposit deal is good for one day only (4/27/18) so get ready to take advantage of this exciting opportunity.

If that discounted deposit deal sounds familiar, there is a good reason for that. Holland America ran the same deal last Summer.  Holland America Line is not the only cruise line to offer $1 deposits either, Norwegian Cruise Line did just a month ago.  Sister line Princess Cruises steps into this frenzy from time to time, like with seasonal $1 Cyber Monday sales.  Now it’s Holland America fans who can start dreaming for a buck.

I know about this one because I gave the cruise line my email address so they would tell me about such things.  I mention this here because some of the best promotions are traveler-specific.  This one is probably due to past guest status because it mentions my attained level in that email.  That means those who received it can get it but not everyone perhaps.  Some promotions can indeed be shared. Play around in the casino for any reasonable amount of time and a discounted Casino Cruise might be in your future.

If nothing else applies, a reduced deposit of $99 + a complimentary upgrade within your chosen category (like from 4A to 4E, both inside) is pretty hard to beat.  Actually, that would be impossible to be beaten on and the one at the dining room table who paid more. The Early Saver Fare element of the offer guarantees the lowest price or the cruise line gives you the difference in onboard credit which is just like cash you will spend on the ship anyway.  The deposit is non-refundable but that’s not really as severe as it sounds.

The point in offering this discounted rate and a great guaranteed deal that the Early Saver Fare brings: bookings stay put. You’ll think twice before canceling an Early Saver Fare.  That’s because the cruise line will keep $50 of that non-refundable deposit, per person, for canceling outside of final payment….something other fares would refund 100% of the deposit on.  The good news is that the rest of that deposit is still there on that booking to be used by referring to that booking number within two years.

And that’s probably way more than you wanted to know about the Early Saver Fare…but it is unique and only Carnival Cruise Line offers it.  Also popular along those lines: an EZ Payment Plan and they take PayPal.  I’ll save both of those topics for a future post.  We have learned enough for today and it’s time to move along to a different topic: Dining…so coming up is: The Carnival Horizon Bonanza Of Dining Options.
