Carnival’s New Flagship Now Sailing First Cruise

Carnival Cruise Line’s new flagship, Carnival Jubilee, welcomed its first guests on board this for an unforgettable inaugural cruise over the Christmas holiday. The ship’s official launch puts a bow on what has been an exciting year of growth for the company proudly known as America’s Cruise Line.

Carnival President Christine Duffy welcomed guests to board the newest Fun Ship from the Galveston Wharves’ Terminal 25, which recently underwent a $53-million enhancement project in preparation for the ship’s arrival. Carnival Jubilee continues an exciting growth period, which brought significant capacity expansion this year. As the fifth of six ships to join the Carnival fleet in less than three years, the ship is an integral part of the company’s overall growth strategy and its commitment to Galveston – one of its top homeports.

“This is the start of a new era for us here in Galveston,” said Duffy. “This stunning ship not only brings together our best offerings, from thrilling entertainment like the BOLT roller coaster to delicious dining options like Emeril’s Bistro, it also expands our capacity – allowing us to deliver the quintessential Carnival fun to more people sailing from Texas.”

The first guests on board Carnival Jubilee will be surrounded by festivities, with the Christmas holiday celebrated as the ship sails on a week-long Western Caribbean itinerary. Next week, another group of guests will board the ship and ring in the New Year for the ship’s second cruise. Carnival Jubilee sails week-long cruises year-round and visits some of the most popular destinations in the western Caribbean, including Mahogany Bay, as well as Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico.

Carnival Jubilee: A Sea of Fun with Two Ocean-Inspired Decks

Carnival Jubilee boasts six vibrant districts packed with dining, drinks, and entertainment, with two unique zones capturing the ocean in distinct ways. Dive into Currents: This “underwater” realm features renowned chef Emeril Lagasse’s new seafood haven, Emeril’s Bistro 717. Technology and design immerse guests in an aquatic escape. Escape to The Shores: This whimsical “boardwalk” setting houses favorites like Rudi’s Seagrill and the Italian gem Cucina del Capitano.

Beyond these themed zones, expect crowd-pleasers like Big Chicken by Shaquille O’Neill, Guy Fieri’s burger and BBQ delights, and more.

Familiar thrills from sister ships, Mardi Gras and Celebration, join the party. BOLT, the top-deck coaster, promises adrenaline rushes, while the three-deck atrium transforms from magnificent daytime vista to vibrant nighttime entertainment hub.

Carnival Jubilee dials up the connectivity too, becoming the first North American cruise ship with 5G and enhanced satellite internet. Sustainability joins the fun, with Jubilee being the first LNG-powered cruise ship in Galveston.

As part of Carnival’s four-ship Galveston deployment, Jubilee joins Carnival Breeze, Dream, and soon-to-arrive Miracle, ensuring Texans never miss out on their dose of Carnival fun. So, whether you crave underwater adventures, boardwalk charm, or simply top-notch dining and thrills, Carnival Jubilee promises a cruise experience with something for everyone.
