Wind Surf Dry Dock Brings New Officer’s Suite

Windstar Cruises Wind Surf went into dry dock last fall and had a lot of work done. The hull was completely sandblasted and painted. Every room and public space on the ship received a refreshing. 16 new guest rooms were added along with additional crew quarters to maintain the ship’s impressive 1.5 crew for every passenger ratio. Also added, an Officer’s Suite that is not really for officers.

The nautically appointed Officer’s Suite on the five-masted schooner is located directly behind the Bridge, in an area labeled “crew only.”

All of Windstar’s six ships have an open Bridge, inviting guests to interact with the ship’s officers. But the Officer’s Suite is the only public accommodation actually in the officers’ quarters. Perhaps the ultimate true cruise enthusiasts’ accommodation.

“Guests in this suite share exclusive company with the Captain, Chief Officer, Hotel Manager and Chief Engineer. It’s absolutely 180 degrees from ordinary with nothing else like it in the industry.”

The new 242- square foot Officer’s Suite features a bedroom, full bath with Jacuzzi tub, and living room with a wide screen television.
