Unique Cunard Features I Enjoyed Most

Other than having to leave when the sailing was over, I have zero complaints and nothing but praise for Cunard Line’s Queen Elizabeth. From the moment I stepped on the ship until I walked off to return home, everything was about as close to perfect as one might expect. Here are some of the reasons for that hearty recommendation.

  • A New Hairstyle- Stopping by the Mareel® Wellness & Beauty spa, I enjoyed a great haircut and style ($59) from stylist Sarah Johnstone. Highly recommended.
  • Onboard Amenities- I enjoyed upgraded amenities in the Brittania Club accommodations throughout the voyage.
  • Exclusive Dining- Fabulous: The Brittania Club restaurant for every meal except the first day when I tried the buffet. See sample menus.
  • Exclusive Table- I liked that there was a table reserved for us every night in the Brittania Club restaurant, regardless of who showed up for dinner.
  • Diversity- I like that the Cunard experience is wide open to multi-generational family groups, solo travelers (like me), and other often overlooked groups.
  • Abstract Of The Log– At the end of the sailing, we received an account of exactly, the minute, when we arrived and departed from each port of call or viewing area.
  • Excellent Shorex Offerings– I have been to Alaska many times and always appreciate a well-thought-out shore offering. Tours from Queen Elizabeth checked that box quite quickly. In other words, they were not boring.
  • Finally, Appropriate Portion Control– I enjoyed everything I tried, but the portions were not gigantic. That made sampling a variety of menu items easy to do and I did not end up overfilled. I did not gain weight on this cruise. That’s a first.
