This gathering provided a wonderful opportunity for travelers on the line’s longest and most immersive itineraries to connect, mingle, and share fascinating stories from their global explorations. The warm atmosphere was further enhanced by the presence of the captains and senior officers from both the Volendam and the Zaandam, who joined the festivities to mark this significant occasion. Darren Lewis, Zaandam’s Hotel General Manager, highlighted that such events foster a strong sense of community among guests who sail for months at a time.

The Volendam is currently on a magnificent 133-day Grand World Voyage, charting a course toward Asia before navigating the Panama Canal to conclude in Florida. Simultaneously, the Zaandam is continuing its beautiful 93-day adventure through Australia, New Zealand, and French Polynesia before arriving in California. This enchanting chocolate-themed reunion beautifully exemplifies Holland America Line’s dedication to providing exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that celebrate culinary excellence and deepen the connections among its Grand Voyage community.
