Travel Briefs: Stories You May Have Missed

A quick look at some of this week’s short travel stories that are long on adventure.

A&K Expands In Galapagos Islands
Abercrombie & Kent is expanding its portfolio in the Galápagos Islands cruise market with Ecoventura. Ecoventura has added a third expedition yacht, Evolve, to its fleet of three luxury yachts. The yachts accommodate 20 guests each and are the only Galápagos cruise vessels accepted into the Relais & Châteaux collection. Onboard amenities include a concierge, fitness center, sundeck with loungers, and Jacuzzi. All meals are a la carte and inspired by Relais & Châteaux. The three Ecoventura yachts rotate between two seven-night itineraries. There is a naturalist for every ten guests. Ecoventura is committed to sustainability and has installed two new recycling machines on the island of San Cristobal.

Weddings Are Different Now
Weddings have become more elaborate in recent years, with couples planning a series of events leading up to the big day. This trend, known as “wedding sprawl,” can include a proposal party, engagement bash, bridal shower, bachelor or bachelorette weekend, ceremony, reception, welcome drinks, rehearsal dinner, morning-after brunch, and even a mini-moon or early moon. All of these events can add up to a lot of time, money, and stress for the couple and their loved ones.
