Costa Fortuna 2023 Explores East, West Med

Costa Cruises is launching a spring-to-fall program with three new Costa Fortuna 14-day itineraries covering the Mediterranean from east to west — even reaching the Canary Islands. Costa Fortuna’s new cruises in the Med will last two weeks, available for the first time at the height of summer.

“After the restart in Asia with Costa Serena, the addition of Costa Fortuna to our offer in the Mediterranean is another very positive sign, which testifies to a growing appreciation of our cruises in 2023,” said Mario Zanetti, Costa Cruises’ president. “We have designed truly exclusive itineraries for Costa Fortuna, available only with us this summer. In this way, we will offer an additional opportunity to discover the Mediterranean, with more time available to explore a variety of destinations.”

From June 24 to Aug. 19, Costa Fortuna will offer a unique itinerary that includes two of the most popular Mediterranean destinations in a single holiday: the Greek and Balearic islands. The full program includes Savona, Civitavecchia (Rome), and Messina, Italy; four Greek islands: Crete (with a call at Heraklion), Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Kefalonia (with a call at Argostoli); Palma de Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, and Barcelona, Spain; and Marseille, France.

Costa Fortuna’s second itinerary to the Canary Islands archipelago will explore up to five locations: Arrecife, Puerto del Rosario, Las Palmas, San Sebastian de la Gomera and Santa Cruz de Tenerife; as well as Madeira, Portugal; Malaga, Spain; and Savona and, on some departures, Civitavecchia (Rome)—scheduled departures run from April 29 to June 10, plus departures on Sept. 2 and 16.

The third itinerary, departing April 16, Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, will explore Istanbul (where guests can stay overnight during September and October departures) and Izmir, Turkey; Athens, Greece; and Malta; as well as Savona, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Catania, Italy; Barcelona and Marseille.

Come autumn, from Oct. 28 until mid-November, Costa Fortuna will offer three- and four-day mini-cruises in the western Mediterranean to Barcelona and Marseille, departing from Savona.

The new cruises further strengthen Costa’s presence in the Mediterranean. In addition to Costa Fortuna, the Italian line will offer three ships in the western and two ships in the eastern Mediterranean all sailing weeklong cruises. Costa Smeralda, Costa Toscana and Costa Diadema will visit Italy, France and Spain; while Costa Deliziosa will depart from Venice (Marghera) and Bari, Italy; to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini. Costa Pacifica will sail from its new homeport of Taranto, Italy, bound for Malta and the Greek islands.
