Celebrity Cruises is officially entering the European river cruise market with a fleet of 20 innovative vessels scheduled to debut between 2027 and 2031. The new brand, Celebrity River Cruises, aims to bring the sophisticated design of the Edge Series ocean ships to the Rhine and Danube rivers. The first two ships, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, will launch in 2027, followed by three more in 2028. This expansion meets a significant demand, as approximately half of the line’s existing guests have expressed interest in river travel.

The hardware for these new vessels features a patent-pending design focused on maximizing outdoor space, including a signature infinity pool at the stern. Guests can enjoy unique features like the Magic Edge, which offers cantilevered dining pods that extend over the water. The ships will offer five stateroom categories, incorporating the Infinite Veranda concept and king-sized beds. Suite guests will benefit from specialized services, including dedicated butlers and priority reservations for excursions.

Itineraries consist of 33 distinct seven-night sailings visiting iconic cities such as Budapest and Prague. The pricing model is all-inclusive, covering beverages and daily shore excursions. These excursions are divided into four series, including the Storyteller Series led by cultural insiders and the Skillmaster Series, which offers hands-on activities like cooking classes with locals. To remain committed to sustainability, the fleet will utilize hybrid propulsion, lightweight hulls, and advanced waste management systems to minimize environmental impact in the regions they sail.
