Beyond Live: The Great Rivers Of Europe

A&K 1

Photo: Abercrombie & Kent

This week, we go back to Europe for a sailing through scenic Holland and Germany on the Rhine and Main Rivers, the Main-Danube Canal and the River Danube to explore a world of medieval alleyways, picturesque vineyards and magnificent castles.  Different from other river cruise experiences, this one is with luxury land tour operator Abercrombie and Kent, known worldwide for amazing land travel experiences.  Different from other live voyage reports too, those that deliver a day by day account of what travelers see and do on a trip, we have an unusual focus you might not find elsewhere.

Going Beyond Live Reports
While others focus on an accurate description of what they are experiencing, all fine and dandy information that is good to have, we will go beyond live, describing stateroom features and a laundry list of what helpful stuff to bring along. Rather than describing the hardware, we show you people using and enjoying it.  As opposed to a feature list of attractions at any given destination from which to choose, we bring details of what we did, saw, ate, enjoyed and those we met along the way; often the deciding factor in your decision to emulate our travel. Looking for a good photo of an iconic destination? Google that for hundreds from which to choose.  Want to see what it is like to be there, experiencing that iconic destination?  We will have that for you.

Having sailed this itinerary before, we’ll go beyond live and examine the Abercrombie difference which includes an overnight hotel stay on the front and back end, sailing with a group of just 24 other travelers.  The small group size promises access to unique onshore sightseeing experiences and smaller boutique hotel lodgings with local character not available to larger groups.  We’ll visit authentic European neighborhoods and markets and experience exclusive meetings with local artisans, musicians and culinary experts, that reveal your destination from a unique perspective.

It’s that last part, ‘revealing the destination from a unique perspective’ that intrigues us.  Look for great detail on what the A&K element does for river cruising as we go beyond live.  While much of what that means is undefined, some of it is.  It’s what they call A&K Onshore Connections; unforgettable travel moments that are only possible because of A&K’s unmatched local expertise.
