American Air Flyers Raise Millions To Fight Cancer

American Airlines raised nearly $4 million for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) through its annual fundraising campaign, the most successful campaign to date.

American has raised more than $20 million over its seven-year collaboration with SU2C. Customers received 25 bonus American Airlines AAdvantage® miles for every dollar donated, and Mastercard® credit card holders received 50 bonus AAdvantage® miles per dollar, up to $3 million in donations. The funds will go toward continuing to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking research.

American also supported SU2C in various ways, such as participating in the SU2C biennial roadblock televised fundraising special and recognizing American team members whose lives were impacted by cancer at Texas Rangers and Chicago Cubs baseball games. SU2C co-founder Rusty Robertson thanked American Airlines and its customers for their support, which has helped to propel SU2C’s mission forward. He said that through donor generosity, SU2C can save more lives now and keep moving critical cancer research forward to make every patient a long-term survivor.
