Country Club Ambiance Continues On New Seabourn Encore

Fans of Seabourn are anxiously awaiting the debut of new Seabourn Encore, still more than a year away from the ship’s December 2016 launch.   To feed that hunger, a dedicated Seabourn Encore microsite has been set up with imagery, details and updates on the ship’s progress, including “sunsets until launch.”  The mechanics of that effort are nothing new really, other lines have microsites for new ships as well.   Different from other pre-launch cruise ship microsites: every Seabourn Encore element introduced so far is consistent with, supports and further defines the Seabourn Experience.   Such is also the case with recently released details and renderings of The Club, an elegant and inviting lounge on Seabourn Encore.

“One of the hallmarks Seabourn is known for is the private country-club-like ambiance that adds to the very social and friendly atmosphere aboard our ships,” – John Delaney senior vice president, marketing and sales of Seabourn.

At the end of the day, a new ship is a new piece of hardware.  As well-organized and pretty as it may be, no revolutionary ship design ever imaginable will take the place of a focused crew.  That holds true on every cruise ship we have ever sailed.  Back home, after the experience, good or not so good memories are amplified by the crew factor.  Still, carefully considered design and fitting of a ship sets the stage and gives that crew the tools needed to do their best.

To give the highly-skilled crew members of Seabourn the right tools for the job, Seabourn tapped hospitality design icon Adam D. Tihany who has projects that have included top shelf hotels, restaurants, bars, airports and more.  Interesting in this space, Tihany had a hand in the design of Celebrity Solstice, a ship of which Lisa once said “I could sail this ship forever”.  Respecting what works for Seabourn, new Seabourn Encore will feature modern design elements and innovations consistent with the line’s reputation for understated elegance.
