Royal Caribbean’s beloved Harmony of the Seas has emerged from a comprehensive five-week drydock refurbishment at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain. This massive vessel, known for its incredible passenger capacity, returns to service with an array of fresh features as part of the cruise line’s ambitious Royal Amplified modernization program. Guests setting sail from Barcelona starting May 21, 2026, will be among the first to experience these exciting updates.

The transformation introduces a variety of new social and dining hotspots. Guests can now relax at The Lime & Coconut, a vibrant, tropical-themed pool bar designed to enhance the outdoor experience. Culinary options have also expanded significantly. The ship now features El Loco Fresh for those craving complimentary, casual Mexican fare, and the Samba Grill, which brings an authentic Brazilian steakhouse experience on board. Furthermore, the popular Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade has been installed within the lively Boardwalk neighborhood, offering a perfect spot for entertainment and camaraderie.

Beyond these social venues, Royal Caribbean has expanded the ship’s capacity by adding over 100 new staterooms. This includes sleek panoramic suites located above the bridge, as well as interior cabins cleverly repurposed from a former conference centre space. The ship also showcases updated exterior branding, featuring a more prominent name on the bow and a refreshed logo at the stern. After concluding its summer season in the Western Mediterranean, Harmony of the Seas is scheduled to head back to North America in late July. Beginning in August 2026, it will operate from Port Canaveral, offering diverse itineraries through the Caribbean and the Bahamas, providing travelers with more choices than ever to explore these stunning destinations.
