Carnival Cruise Line is celebrating a wonderful milestone as construction officially begins on its newest Excel-class ship, Carnival Festivale. A traditional keel laying ceremony was held at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, where commemorative coins inscribed with musical notes were placed under a massive keel block to bring good luck to the vessel and all who sail on her. This event sets a joyful tempo for the ship’s journey to the sea.

Set to debut in spring 2027, Carnival Festivale will introduce an exciting and vibrant music theme to the fleet. The ship is designed with immersive, music-inspired zones that celebrate the creative process and the energy of live performances. These areas will come to life with interactive technology, dynamic lighting, and curated food and beverage options, creating a unique atmosphere for guests. The ship is also designed to be the ultimate family getaway, featuring a massive adventure zone called Sunsation Point, which includes Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, the most family-friendly water park at sea.

Once complete, Carnival Festivale will sail year-round from Port Canaveral, Florida, becoming the line’s fourth ship powered by cleaner-burning Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
