Cunard’s flagship, the Queen Mary 2, will serve as a central host for the Sail4th 250 celebration in New York Harbor on July 4, 2026, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence. The ocean liner will be positioned to provide guests with an exclusive front-row seat for the International Parade of Sail, which is expected to be the largest maritime gathering in New York in decades. This parade will feature over 100 vessels, including more than 50 tall ships from 30 nations, sailing past the Statue of Liberty and up the Hudson River.

The Queen Mary 2 will also host NBC national TV coverage of the event. Guests aboard the ship will experience a full day of specially curated entertainment and enrichment, including performances by comedian John Joseph and classical crossover trio Vox Fortura. The Insights program will feature lectures from maritime historian Bill Miller and art historian Dr. Seth Gopin.
As evening approaches, the ship will turn to offer unrivaled views of the official Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks display set against the Manhattan skyline. The event itself is part of a six-day celebration that will include an International Naval Review and an aerial performance by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels, drawing an estimated eight million spectators to the waterfronts. Following the July 4th festivities, the 7-night Independence Day Celebration Voyage (M614), which departs round-trip from New York on July 3, 2026, will continue with calls in Newport, Rhode Island, and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
