Windstar’s First Mystery Cruise a Success, Next Nears Sell-Out

Windstar Cruises successfully concluded its inaugural President’s Mystery Cruise aboard the Star Legend in the Mediterranean from April 19-27. Departing from Athens (Piraeus), the fully booked voyage introduced passengers to three destinations entirely new to Windstar’s itineraries: Taranto and Reggio Calabria in Italy, and Kalamata in Greece. The cruise also included a visit to Naxos Giardini in Sicily.

Adding an element of surprise, guests received clues about each upcoming port of call approximately 36 hours in advance. A variety of shore excursions, encompassing historical and scenic explorations, were available at each location. Memorable onboard experiences included a signature Windstar destination discovery event on a hilltop in Reggio Calabria and a lively Tarantella dance performance in Taranto.

Chris Prelog, President of Windstar Cruises and host of the cruise, highlighted the adventurous spirit of their guests as the inspiration behind this unique itinerary, aiming to introduce them to lesser-known regions like Puglia and Calabria. He announced that some of these new ports, specifically Reggio Calabria and Taranto, will be featured in Windstar’s 2026 itineraries.

Prelog expressed his enthusiasm for the “thrilling and liberating” experience of spontaneous travel. Following the success of this Mediterranean voyage, Windstar has announced its next Mystery Cruise in the Caribbean, scheduled for March 20, 2026, on their newest yacht, Star Seeker. This upcoming cruise, departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, has already generated significant interest, indicating a strong demand for Windstar’s blend of destination discovery and trusted service. The overwhelming response suggests that Windstar Cruises will likely offer more such mystery itineraries in the future
