Flamingo First To Offer Free Drink

Along with radiating classic Vegas charm, the Flamingo Las Vegas proved to be the easiest (fastest and cheapest) casino to get a complimentary drink. We had only spent 45 cents at our slot machine before our order was taken, which worked out at a sharp 4 minutes, 20 seconds. Our drink arrived in just over three minutes, which was quicker and cheaper than its Las Vegas casino counterparts – by some distance.

The Bellagio was the second-fastest casino in the study to take our drink order (10 minutes, 30 seconds), with the drink arriving after 23 minutes, 16 seconds. However, we did have to spend $27.30 before our drink arrived.

The Cosmopolitan sneaks onto our podium, with an order time of just over 13 minutes. The drink then arrived 10 minutes later, which was about 30 seconds quicker than the Bellagio. However, getting a freebie in this luxury resort proved fairly costly. We had to gamble $50 before the drink arrived – almost double the Flamingo and Bellagio.

Planet Hollywood and Caesars Palace languish towards the bottom of our ranking. It took 19 minutes, and 11 seconds of gaming in Planet Hollywood until they took our order. But they were relatively swift in serving the drink, which took just over 5 minutes. In total, we gambled $21 at Planet Hollywood before the drink arrived, which worked out cheaper than the Bellagio and The Cosmopolitan.

Caesars Palace was a huge disappointment as we gambled $90 and didn’t get a complimentary drink, putting it at the foot of our ranking.

After all the numbers have been crunched, if you’re thinking that a complimentary drink at a Las Vegas casino might actually be cheaper than just going to the bar, you’re probably in for a surprise. Apart from the Flamingo, it’s still cheaper to go to a regular bar compared to waiting for a complimentary drink while gambling at a casino (with an average drink costing around $10).
