While favorite Port Canaveral is the busiest and most engaging cruise port in the world, PortMiami recently established a new single-day record for passenger volume and ship traffic. The milestone was achieved on Sunday, November 30, 2025, when the port simultaneously hosted ten cruise ships and managed the travel of 75,201 guests through its cruise terminals. This figure surpassed the port’s previous daily record of nearly 68,000 passengers, which was set on February 8, 2025.

The fleet of ten vessels represented seven different cruise lines, highlighting the port’s capacity to serve a diverse range of operators. The ships in port for turnaround operations included the Azamara Onward, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Sunrise, Celebrity Beyond, MSC Divina, Norwegian Aqua, Independence of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, and the Scarlet Lady. These ships were facilitating the start or conclusion of four- to seven-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

The record-breaking day is part of a larger trend of significant growth for PortMiami. The port also celebrated an all-time high in its annual passenger numbers for the 2025 fiscal year. During this period, the seaport welcomed over 8.5 million guests, marking the highest annual passenger count in its history and representing a four percent increase compared to the prior fiscal year.

Looking ahead to the 2025–2026 season, PortMiami continues to attract new vessels. Notable ships homeporting in Miami for the first time this season include Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, Holland America’s Zuiderdam, Oceania’s Allura, and Windstar’s new Star Seeker. These arrivals further enhance Miami’s status as a premier homeport for the global cruise industry.
