Holland America Line and Pan Am are collaborating to launch a unique 28-day Caribbean cruise, the “Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage.” This inaugural cruise, inspired by Pan Am’s historic “flying boat” Clipper routes, aims to blend heritage, elegance, and exploration across 18 ports of call in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Latin America. The voyage is scheduled to depart from Miami on October 30, 2027, aboard the Zuiderdam, tracing Pan Am’s legendary Great Circle Route.

The itinerary includes visits to nine original Pan Am destinations such as Nassau, San Juan, and Willemstad, offering guests an immersive experience into the diverse cultures and histories of the region. This journey seeks to recreate the sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere of travel’s golden age, which both brands helped pioneer. Paul Grigsby, Vice President of itinerary planning for Holland America Line, emphasized that this collaboration honors the legacy of connecting people to the world with impeccable service and a spirit of discovery.

The original Pan Am Clipper service utilized “ships of the air” with boat-like hulls, enabling them to land on water and access destinations without established runways. Passengers often stayed overnight in local hotels, blending transportation with immersive travel experiences. The cruise will feature themed meals, period-inspired décor, and historical programming to immerse guests in this golden era.

This partnership is also part of Holland America Line’s broader commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary, which includes other collaborations with iconic American brands. Guests booking the voyage can benefit from the “Have It All” premium package, which includes shore excursions, specialty dining, beverage packages, and Wi-Fi, along with free prepaid crew appreciation and upgrades. Mariner Society loyalty members can also receive up to $400 onboard credit. The voyage is designed to appeal to both seasoned cruisers and curious travelers interested in historical exploration.
