In a delicious new development for food lovers at sea, Holland America Line is introducing Koningstafel, a regal and immersive reimagining of the classic Chef’s Table experience. Dutch for “King’s Table,” this wonderful new offering blends exclusive behind-the-scenes access with a spectacular six-course feast that celebrates culinary artistry.

The Koningstafel evening is more than just a meal; it is a complete culinary event. The experience begins with a private cocktail reception before the ship’s executive chef personally leads guests on a rare tour of the galley. This provides a fascinating glimpse into the heart of Holland America’s culinary operations. Afterward, guests are seated at a beautifully styled table for an intimate dinner where each innovative dish is paired with a curated wine selection. The menu itself is a work of art, featuring haute cuisine creations like butter-poached lobster tail and herb-roasted lamb loin.

As a Holland America Line executive shared, Koningstafel is a true “celebration of craftsmanship, artistry and connection.” It is part of a broader enhancement of the cruise line’s dining program, which will also see the introduction of other exciting themed dinners, including a Dutch-Indonesian Rijsttafel and a tropical Tiki night. This elegant new experience is a perfect showcase of the talent and creativity of the onboard culinary team.
