The Ha Long International Cruise Port in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province is projecting a significant year for international cruise arrivals, with expectations to welcome approximately 32,000 visitors by the end of 2025. This achievement reinforces Ha Long’s status as a leading destination for luxury sea tourism in the region.

The port recently hosted two luxury cruise ships, the Westerdam (Netherlands) and the Star Voyager (Bahamas), on November 11–12, carrying over 3,100 passengers and crew. Guests disembarking the Westerdam visited local heritage sites such as Ha Long Bay and the Yen Tu scenic complex, while other groups traveled to the Red River Delta area, including Hanoi and Vinh Bao. The steady return of these ships, particularly the Star Voyager, which made its fourth call in 2025, signals the growing global appeal of Ha Long.

In the first ten months of 2025, the port saw 44 international cruise calls with a total of 56,647 passengers, marking a 9% increase year-on-year. The majority of visitors originated from Europe, the US, and China, indicating a strong recovery in the luxury travel segment. The port, designed to accommodate two ships exceeding 200,000 Gross Tonnage simultaneously, plans to handle a total of 23 cruise calls and nearly 90,000 international visitors by year-end, solidifying Quang Ninh’s central role in Vietnam’s cruise tourism strategy.
