Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is celebrating 30 years of successful operations to Nairobi, Kenya, since its inaugural flight in October 1995. This significant milestone highlights the airline’s role in connecting one of Africa’s fastest-growing cities to over 145 countries, successfully facilitating global tourism and trade. Over three decades, Emirates has proudly transported more than 6.6 million passengers on over 34,250 flights.

The partnership between Emirates and Kenya Airways, established in 2023, has proven highly successful, offering customers seamless, one-ticket itineraries. In just two years, 31,000 passengers have benefited, unlocking connectivity to in-demand East African tourist destinations like Rwanda, Malawi, Tanzania (Kilimanjaro), Mozambique, and Burundi.
Beyond passenger service, Emirates significantly contributes to Kenya’s economy and community. Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division, plays a vital role in global trade, notably uplifting over 16,000 tonnes of fresh cut flowers in the last year alone. The airline also supports employment, with over 1,100 Kenyans working for The Emirates Group globally, including over 250 cabin crew and 41 pilots. Furthermore, the Emirates Airline Foundation actively supports three Kenyan humanitarian organizations focused on child welfare and education, showcasing a deep commitment to the local community.
