Crystal, renowned for its exclusive and innovative food and beverage experiences at sea, today announced a significant enhancement to its onboard culinary offerings through an exclusive collaboration with Badiani, one of the world’s most esteemed artisan gelato makers.

Guests aboard Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will now have the pleasure of savoring a newly curated selection of authentic Italian gelato at the Scoops Gelato Bar, crafted by the Florence-based Badiani, a brand celebrated for its heritage of excellence since 1932.

Founded by Idilio Badiani and carried forward by gelato artisan Paolo Pomposi, Badiani has built a global reputation on its unwavering commitment to quality, craftsmanship, simplicity, and the use of the finest natural ingredients. The Pomposi family’s legacy includes signature recipes like the iconic Buontalenti gelato—a creamy blend of milk, sugar, and eggs—created to honor Bernardo Buontalenti, the Florentine architect credited with introducing gelato to the Medici court in the 16th century.

Badiani’s meticulous artisanal approach involves slow churning to preserve texture, seasonal sourcing of fruits, and a dedication to sustainability, including 100 percent natural recipes and eco-friendly packaging.

This new partnership will see Badiani’s celebrated gelato replace the current selection in Scoops. Crystal guests can look forward to an array of classic and contemporary flavors. The extensive list includes the signature Buontalenti, Buontalenti Pistachio, Cioccolatissimo (intense chocolate), Croccantino al Rum, Dolcevita, as well as traditional favorites like Strawberry, Coffee, Mint Chocolate, Amarena cherry, Coconut, Salted Caramel, Stracciatella, and Hazelnut.

A variety of sorbets such as Lemon and Mango Sorbet Alphonso, and lactose-free options like Lactose-Free Stracciatella and Pistachio, will also be available, ensuring a delightful treat for every palate.
