July, an Australian luggage brand, has launched CaseSafe, which it describes as the world’s first fully integrated trackable suitcase. This product aims to address the issue of lost luggage by allowing travelers to monitor their bags in real time. CaseSafe was developed in collaboration with Apple and Google, incorporating compatibility with both Apple’s Find My and Google’s Find Hub networks.

The innovative feature is a TSA-approved, battery-operated lock that includes the tracking technology. This integration means no additional tags or devices are required to track the luggage. Google’s Vice President of Engineering, Erik Kay, noted that Find Hub leverages a crowdsourced network of over a billion Android devices to assist in locating lost items, making the process straightforward for Android users. July previously partnered with Qantas for a limited release of this trackable luggage, which reportedly sold thousands of units.
CaseSafe luggage is available in July’s core colors and in both carry-on and checked sizes, with prices ranging from $325 to $395. The suitcases feature a German aerospace-grade polycarbonate shell and SilentMove 360-degree spinner wheels. July’s founders, Athan Didaskalou and Richard Li, established the brand in 2019 with the goal of creating high-quality, well-designed travel products that are accessible. The company has experienced significant growth since its expansion into the U.S. and is now offering CaseSafe for purchase online.
