Carnival Legend Arrives San Francisco For Season

WHAT TO KNOW

  • Carnival Legend Begins First San Francisco Season: The arrival of Carnival Legend marks the start of its first-ever seasonal homeport deployment in San Francisco.
  • Increased West Coast Cruise Options: This deployment strengthens Carnival’s position as the leading cruise operator in California by adding more cruise choices for guests departing from the West Coast.
  • Alaska and Mexican Riviera Cruises from San Francisco: Carnival Legend will operate roundtrip cruises to popular Alaskan destinations and shorter voyages to the Mexican Riviera from its new San Francisco homeport.
  • New and Enhanced Onboard Features: The ship offers a variety of signature Carnival experiences and has recently been updated with new venues like the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge and Dreams Studio, along with refreshed dining and spa areas.

Carnival Legend arrived at the Port of San Francisco, its new seasonal homeport, for the first time. Carnival Legend is now the second Carnival ship to sail the cruise line’s seasonal schedule from San Francisco, strengthening Carnival’s position as the cruise line embarking more guests than any other operator in California by adding more options for guests who sail from the West Coast.

Welcoming Carnival Legend to San Francisco, port leaders joined the ship’s senior officers, including Capt. Mark Harlow, for a traditional plaque exchange in honor of the ship’s first arrival. The ship also completes Carnival’s deployment for the Alaska cruise season, joining Carnival Spirit and Carnival Luminosa, which homeport in Seattle. From San Francisco, Carnival Legend will sail 10-day roundtrip cruises that immerse guests in the awe-inspiring beauty of Alaska’s most popular destinations as well as several shorter getaways to the Mexican Riviera.

“The Carnival Legend team is proud to homeport in beautiful San Francisco for the very first time,” said Mark Harlow, captain of Carnival Legend. “We’re looking forward to sailing guests on unique cruises, connecting this vibrant city with the stunning landscapes of Alaska’s most popular destinations. Our 965 team members are ready to deliver happy and memorable cruise vacations to our guests from this incredible city.”

Guests embarking today on Carnival Legend will sail on a four-day Baja Mexico cruise, featuring a stop in Ensenada. On May 12, the ship will depart on its first cruise of the season to Alaska, offering scenic views of the Tracy Arm Fjord and visiting Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, as well as Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The ship is also set for a 15-day roundtrip Carnival Journeys cruise to Hawaii, departing from San Francisco on Sept. 21, and visiting Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Nawiliwili, Kauai; and Hilo, Hawaii.

On board, guests will enjoy a range of signature Carnival experiences, including Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, the RedFrog Pub, Alchemy Bar and WaterWorks Aqua Park. The ship was recently refreshed to include a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, Chef’s Table and Dreams Studio, along with an enhanced Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Cloud 9 Spa. The 2,124-guest ship features over 630 balcony staterooms and 50 suites.
