Well, now there is something to do in Ensenada.
Carnival Corporation, ITM Group, and Hutchison Ports ECV have jointly unveiled the plans and renderings for Ensenada Bay Village, a new shoreside destination at the Ensenada Cruise Terminal. Titled “Treasures of Baja,” the project is inspired by the culture and natural beauty of Baja California, Mexico, and was presented to local, state, and federal officials on December 5, 2025.

The development represents a collective investment exceeding $26 million, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing Ensenada’s tourism offerings and supporting community growth. The village’s architectural design will draw from 18th-century California-style towns, celebrating the region’s coastal character. The destination is intended to serve as a complementary offering to the existing port and will be open to guests arriving on all cruise lines.

Ensenada Bay Village is designed to offer a balanced mix of activities focused on adventure, relaxation, and gastronomy. High-energy attractions will include zip lines, a river ride, a scenic boat ride, and the signature Dune Rally. Culinary experiences will feature local flavors, such as chocolate and tequila tastings, alongside Valle de Guadalupe wine and cheese pairings. Wellness components are planned, including thermal springs, a spa area, and the Baby Beach adult pool. The destination aims to connect visitors of all ages with Baja’s culture and coastal charm.

The construction phase is anticipated to take approximately 24 months. Once operational, the village is projected to host up to 9,000 visitors daily. This development is expected to significantly boost the local economy, generating an estimated US$120 million in annual economic impact and creating approximately 350 direct and 800 indirect jobs. The partners emphasized that the project supports inclusive tourism and reinforces the port’s critical role in Baja California’s cruise tourism sector.
