Several Caribbean nations, including Barbados, Jamaica, Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saint Lucia, have initiated new, innovative tourism campaigns aimed at transforming the region into a highly sought-after global destination. This coordinated effort focuses on evolving the Caribbean’s tourism appeal beyond traditional beach vacations to encompass sustainability, adventure, and community-based experiences.

Each country is developing a unique niche to attract a diverse range of visitors. Barbados is promoting its year-round summer climate with the “Feels Like Summer” campaign, targeting key markets like the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Dominica, known as the “Nature Island,” is heavily investing in adventure tourism, highlighting its rainforests, waterfalls, and eco-conscious travel experiences. Jamaica is focusing on community-based tourism, using programs like “Country Style” to offer visitors authentic, local engagement and ensure tourism benefits are distributed to residents.
Saint Lucia has established a Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) to reinvest visitor contributions into community projects and infrastructure, prioritizing sustainable growth. Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago is collaborating on regional integration through the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) to promote seamless multi-country travel and boost intra-Caribbean tourism.
These national initiatives are supported by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), which has launched the “Reimagine Plan 2025–2027.” This strategic roadmap aims to ensure the region’s tourism industry is competitive, resilient, and sustainable. By collectively emphasizing cultural authenticity, diversity, and environmental preservation, the Caribbean is positioning itself for a new era of responsible and enriching travel.
