Azamara Cruises has announced a comprehensive fleet-wide refurbishment program known as the “Azamara Forward” initiative. This project represents the company’s largest-ever fleet upgrade, involving an $80 million investment aimed at modernizing its four-ship fleet. The process is scheduled to begin with the Azamara Quest, which will enter dry dock in Athens this October and return to service in December. A primary highlight of this initial phase will be the debut of a new Penthouse Deck.

CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler stated that the vision behind Azamara Forward is to elevate the onboard experience while respecting the brand’s established identity. The upgrades will be extensive, covering refreshed public spaces as well as the introduction of new dining and bar concepts. Notably, the Chef’s Table venue is set to replace the Drawing Room on all vessels, and the popular Atlas Bar, currently found only on Azamara Onward, will be installed across the entire fleet.
Entertainment and accommodation are also central to the refurbishment plan. The Cabaret Lounge will receive significant technical upgrades to sound and lighting, along with increased seating, to support a rollout of ten new shows. Furthermore, the Discoveries Restaurant will be refreshed, and spa amenities will be updated. In response to high guest demand, all stateroom and suite décor will undergo a complete makeover. Following the completion of the work on Azamara Quest, the remaining ships—Azamara Onward, Azamara Journey, and Azamara Pursuit—are slated to receive their updates starting next year.
