American Airlines Welcomes 1,000th Premium Aircraft

American Airlines is celebrating a wonderful and historic milestone with the arrival of its 1,000th mainline aircraft. This beautiful new plane, a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9, is a fantastic symbol of the airline’s commitment to providing a premium and elevated travel experience as it approaches its 100th anniversary.

The new aircraft is one of the first to feature the airline’s recently launched and highly luxurious Flagship Suite® seats, which are designed to be a private oasis in the sky. This is just the beginning of an exciting expansion of this premium product. The airline has a total of 30 of these advanced jets on order and is planning to introduce the Flagship Suite® experience on more international routes. Travelers flying to London Heathrow will be among the first to enjoy this new level of comfort, with expanded service from Chicago, Philadelphia, and Dallas Fort Worth.

Looking ahead, this premium travel experience will also be available on select long-haul flights to exciting destinations like New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, and Switzerland. With features like privacy doors, chaise lounge seating, and chef-inspired meals, American is beautifully reimagining the onboard experience for its guests.
