Viking has celebrated a remarkable milestone in its ongoing fleet expansion by officially naming seven brand-new river vessels during an interconnected international ceremony. Hosted in Amsterdam alongside the Viking Rota and Viking Haki, the special event virtually linked ports in France, Germany, and Egypt to simultaneously welcome the newest additions to the company’s acclaimed fleet.

In a heartfelt tribute to the travel advisor community, Viking selected seven distinguished industry leaders and top-producing travel agency partners to serve as ceremonial godmothers and godfathers, expressing gratitude for their enduring partnerships and vital contributions to the cruise line’s global success.

The newly christened vessels are set to sail along some of the world’s most iconic and historic waterways. The Viking Haki, Viking Halogi, Viking Sjofn, and Viking Rota will navigate popular European routes across the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, while the Viking Fjolvar will guide guests along France’s scenic Seine River.

Further expanding its exotic reach, the Viking Ptah is currently operating along Egypt’s legendary Nile River, where the Viking Sekhmet will also begin welcoming passengers in 2027. Welcomed by Executive Chairman Torstein Hagen and President and CEO Leah Talactac, the festivities included musical performances by soprano Sissel Kyrkjebø and violinist Tor Jaran Apold, reinforcing Viking’s dedication to delivering culturally enriching experiences across the globe.
