The centerpiece of this regional expansion is the complete renovation and expansion of Cruise Terminal 5. Built to accommodate some of the world’s most massive modern vessels carrying up to 5,600 passengers, the facility is nearly doubling in size to a grand 170,000 square feet. This state-of-the-art upgrade introduces refreshed interiors, expanded luggage handling areas, and enlarged spaces for efficient security screening. Remarkably, construction crews are executing this ambitious project by utilizing 750 tons of steel and hundreds of miles of wiring while keeping the terminal completely active to support multiple weekly departures.

To seamlessly support the port’s highly active drive-to market, where over eighty percent of vacationers arrive in their own vehicles, a brand-new 13-story parking garage is being constructed adjacent to Cruise Terminal 6. Led by local specialists at Ivey’s Construction, this 93 million dollar facility introduces 3,700 additional spaces, lifting the port’s total parking capacity to nearly 17,500 slots. Equipped with extra-large luggage elevators, twin two-lane vehicle ramps, and an accessible pedestrian bridge directly to Cruise Terminal 5, this architectural triumph ensures an incredibly smooth, convenient, and stress-free departure for families as they prepare to sail away.
