Azamara Cruises has announced the relaunch and expansion of its land-based program, known as Azamara Ashore. This initiative is designed to provide passengers with deeper cultural immersion through a variety of pre- and post-cruise land packages. Between 2026 and 2028, the cruise line intends to introduce 17 new programs, with six of these scheduled for debut within the current year. This expansion brings the total collection to 84 curated experiences across five continents, many of which are exclusive to the brand.

The program is structured into three distinct categories to accommodate various travel preferences. Hotel Stays focus on logistical ease for arrivals and departures, including managed transfers. City Stays offer two-night immersions centered on local history and culinary experiences in major port cities. The most extensive option, AzAmazing Journeys, consists of three- to six-night itineraries developed in collaboration with premium local operators. These journeys include experiences such as safaris in Botswana and Zimbabwe, luxury train travel to Machu Picchu in Peru, and artisan workshops in Cappadocia and Istanbul.
In an effort to enhance the overall travel experience, Azamara has partnered with Ship&Play to offer a door-to-door luggage delivery service. This service allows guests to have their bags transported directly to their hotel or ship stateroom, effectively removing the burden of luggage handling. Guests who book specific land programs in advance are eligible for a luggage service voucher. These updates reflect a broader shift in the travel industry toward slow tourism and authentic engagement with local communities. By leveraging local partnerships and focusing on seamless logistics, the cruise line aims to provide a more comprehensive and unhurried exploration of international destinations.
