Holland America Line has officially announced its 2027–2028 season of Legendary Voyages, a collection of longer itineraries designed for travelers seeking immersive and unhurried exploration. Ranging from 28 to 47 days, these cruises address the common complaint that standard voyages can feel rushed. Instead, these journeys focus on “slow travel,” allowing passengers to engage meaningfully with the history and culture of specific regions, including Europe, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, and the Amazon.

A standout addition to the lineup is the 47-Day Ultimate Mediterranean & Atlantic Passage. Sailing roundtrip from New York, this extensive journey visits 12 countries and features overnight stays in culturally significant cities such as Alexandria, Egypt, and Istanbul, Turkey. This itinerary is inspired by the line’s early pleasure cruises from the 1920s, offering a nostalgic yet premium experience.

The season also features unique thematic partners. The 28-Day Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage retraces the historic “flying boat” routes of the 1930s. Departing from Miami, this cruise visits 18 destinations throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, celebrating the golden age of travel with specialized onboard programming. Additionally, the 28-Day Legendary Solar Eclipse & Cosmic Port Explorer offers a rare opportunity to view a solar eclipse at sea off the coast of Morocco, combined with visits to European archeoastronomy sites.

Holland America Line executives emphasize that these voyages are crafted for guests who desire personal and unforgettable adventures. By combining historic routes with extended port times, the cruise line aims to provide a deeper understanding of the world while maintaining the comfort and luxury of ocean travel.
