- Integration of loyalty currency across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea
- New flexibility for guests to direct points to preferred programs
- Operational details regarding the post-cruise allocation window
- Continuation of existing benefits within each individual loyalty society
Royal Caribbean Group has officially announced a significant restructuring of its loyalty ecosystem with the launch of “Points Choice,” a new initiative designed to provide enhanced flexibility for its frequent travelers. Scheduled to begin implementation in late January, this program fundamentally changes how loyalty currency is managed across the company’s three primary cruise lines: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea.

Historically, these brands operated within siloed loyalty programs—the Crown & Anchor Society, Captain’s Club, and Venetian Society—where progress was mutually exclusive. Consequently, a passenger sailing on one line could not apply their accrued credit toward their status on another, a limitation that often frustrated guests who frequented multiple brands under the same corporate umbrella.
The Points Choice system resolves this by allowing travelers to earn points on any of the three lines and subsequently allocate them to the specific loyalty program of their preference. While the criteria for earning points based on nights sailed and stateroom categories remain unchanged, guests will now utilize a 14-day window following their voyage to direct their points to the program that aligns with their future travel plans. This mechanism allows a standard vacation on Royal Caribbean to accelerate status on a future luxury expedition with Silversea.
Corporate leadership, including CEO Jason Liberty, emphasized that this strategy acknowledges the diverse travel habits of their customer base, who often switch between brands for different occasions. This update serves as an evolution of the Status Match feature introduced in 2024, advancing from simple tier recognition to the transferable utility of the loyalty points themselves.
