Carnival Cruise Line has announced its 2027/2028 West Coast sailing season, featuring the Carnival Radiance operating out of Long Beach, California. This new schedule, running from May 2027 through April 2028, focuses on popular short-duration itineraries to Baja Mexico and Catalina Island. The offerings include three-day cruises to Ensenada and four-day trips that combine visits to both Catalina Island and Ensenada. Special holiday departures are also scheduled, including a five-day Christmas cruise visiting Cabo San Lucas and a unique back-to-back Ensenada itinerary in early 2028.

A significant aspect of this announcement is the strengthening of regional partnerships. Carnival recently finalized a 15-year agreement with the City of Avalon on Catalina Island, solidifying a relationship that has lasted over two decades. This agreement emphasizes sustainable tourism and community collaboration. Furthermore, Carnival Corporation is investing over $26 million in the development of Ensenada Bay Village. This new shoreside destination is designed to showcase the culture and natural landscape of Baja California through enhanced adventure, relaxation, and cultural amenities, with an expected opening for guests by 2028.

The Carnival Radiance, a Sunshine-class vessel with a capacity for 2,984 guests, remains a central fixture of the line’s West Coast operations. The ship features established amenities such as Big Chicken by Shaquille O’Neal, Guy’s Burger Joint, and the Cloud9 Spa. These short-cruise options are positioned to appeal to travelers seeking flexible long-weekend getaways or holiday vacations. By expanding these itineraries and investing in port infrastructure, Carnival aims to support regional growth and provide a more immersive experience for its passengers in the Mexican Riviera and Southern California markets.
