Hapag-Lloyd Cruises announced that its luxury ship, the MS EUROPA, will host three classical music cruises during the summer of 2026, effectively transforming the vessel into an intimate, floating concert venue. These sailings are dedicated to world-class chamber music performances.

The season begins with the Ocean Sun Festival 2026, sailing from Malaga to Hamburg from May 28 to June 12. The cruise, themed “Musical Illuminations of the South,” will feature performances by several notable artists, including Avi Avital and Quatuor Arod. A unique component of this itinerary is an opening concert hosted at the historic Hacienda El Vizir near Seville, blending Mediterranean architecture with the musical experience. The ship’s size also permits rare river passages, such as sailing the Guadalquivir to Seville and the Gironde to Bordeaux. Pricing for this 15-day cruise starts at €8,890 per person, based on the PLATINUM fare.

The second classical music cruise, “Chamber Music Along the Norwegian Coast,” will take place from July 23 to August 5, departing from Hamburg for the Norwegian fjords and the North Cape. This voyage will feature performances by renowned pianist Ragna Schirmer and the Schumann Quartet, offering award-winning chamber music set against dramatic Scandinavian backdrops. Pricing for this 13-day cruise starts at €5,990 per person.

The summer music series concludes with “Young Classical Talents Around the British Isles” from August 5 to 21. This cruise features the chamber music festival of Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, showcasing exceptional young musicians supported by the foundation while the EUROPA circumnavigates England, Ireland, and Scotland. This 16-day sailing begins at €8,690 per person. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is noted as the leading luxury and expedition cruise brand in German-speaking markets, with its small ships consistently receiving the highest five-star rating. Starting in January 2026, the entire Hapag-Lloyd fleet will offer bilingual services in English and German.
