Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has scheduled dry dock periods for two of its Jewel-Class ships, the Norwegian Jade and the Norwegian Gem, for renovations in the spring of 2026. These upgrades are part of the cruise line’s ongoing commitment to refreshing its fleet and enhancing the guest experience. The Norwegian Jade is slated for revitalization from April 19 to May 4, 2026, followed by the Norwegian Gem from April 24 to May 11, 2026.

A major identical enhancement for both ships involves the addition of new adults-only outdoor Vibe Beach Clubs. These exclusive areas will replace the ships’ existing sundecks on Deck 14. The new Vibe Beach Clubs are designed to offer a premium, relaxed environment and will feature a hot tub, 54 new premium lounging chairs, and seven new cabanas capable of accommodating two guests each. This change aims to provide a dedicated retreat for adult passengers seeking a tranquil sunbathing and relaxation area.
In addition to the shared Vibe Beach Club installation, the Norwegian Jade will receive a unique enhancement: a dedicated Starbucks location. This new coffee shop will be positioned on Deck 7, providing passengers with the convenience of enjoying the popular coffee brand while onboard.
Following the completion of their respective dry docks and upgrades, both ships will return to service on new itineraries. The refreshed Norwegian Jade is scheduled to operate seven-day Alaska cruises, sailing between Vancouver, Canada, and Whittier, Alaska. Meanwhile, the Norwegian Gem will be deployed to the Mediterranean, offering a variety of Greek Isles and other regional cruises departing from both Venice and Rome. These upgrades and new itineraries are expected to appeal to both loyal NCL guests and new travelers seeking enhanced amenities and attractive destinations.
