Aahaasa Collection has launched as Sri Lanka’s newest luxury boutique hospitality brand, built on the foundation of “Infinite Horizons, Transformative Journeys, Rooted in Nature.” Originating from the family vision that created Aarunya Nature Resort, the brand aims to elevate Sri Lankan hospitality globally by curating a circuit of independent properties across the island’s key natural environments: the mountains, the coast, and the tea country. The name Aahaasa, meaning “to the sky” in Sinhala, reflects the brand’s mission to provide immersive experiences designed to elevate the mind, body, and soul.

The collection features three thematic journeys. Aarunya Nature Resort near Kandy represents the “Awakening Journey,” situated amidst spice and tea gardens and focusing on wellness and estate-to-table cuisine through its Aarogya and Aahaara concepts. Aavya Cove Villas in Balapitiya embodies the “Restorative Journey,” offering luxury tropical modernist villas and seaside dining near Galle Fort. Completing the arc will be Aadya Tea Bungalows near Hatton, slated for an early 2026 opening, symbolizing the “Reflective Journey” within a rehabilitated 200-acre tea estate.
Aahaasa’s experience philosophy is unified by signature concepts, such as fine dining (Aahaara) and elemental experiences (Aaloka), which are uniquely interpreted at each sanctuary. Central to the brand is its commitment to sustainability and community through its Aayusha initiative. This pillar is dedicated to regenerative sustainability, community empowerment, local artisan collaboration, and conservation efforts, including a major tea revitalization project. The founder, architect Nath Rankothge, continues to guide the brand’s international vision, with future plans including yachting concepts and branded residences.
