MSC Grandiosa, an 181,000-ton vessel, arrived at Port Canaveral on December 6, 2025, to commence its schedule of week-long cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas. The ship is the second and largest MSC Cruises vessel to be homeported at the Central Florida terminal, joining the MSC Seashore, which has transitioned to offering shorter three- and four-day itineraries. This expansion doubles the sailing options for guests departing from Port Canaveral, recognized as one of the world’s busiest cruise homeports.

Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray expressed enthusiasm for the ship’s arrival, noting that the addition of MSC Grandiosa signifies MSC Cruises’ confidence in the port’s capacity to deliver a high-quality guest experience. Lynn Torrent, President of MSC Cruises North America, highlighted the arrival as a major milestone, marking the first time the cruise line has positioned two ships at the port and the first instance of a Meraviglia-plus Class ship operating in the U.S. The arrival was commemorated with a traditional maritime plaque exchange ceremony between Port representatives and MSC Grandiosa Captain Danilo Cha.
MSC Grandiosa is capable of accommodating over 6,300 passengers and features 2,421 staterooms and suites, served by more than 1,700 crew members. Onboard amenities include extensive dining, entertainment, a water park, and the exclusive MSC Yacht Club. The vessel offers two distinct seven-day cruise options that visit destinations such as Nassau, Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Puerto Plata, San Juan, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, and Falmouth. These itineraries can be combined for a 14-day sailing. Port Canaveral is noted for its accessibility, particularly as a popular drive-to market for approximately 75 percent of its cruising passengers.
