Emirates is launching the next phase of its extensive fleet retrofit program starting in August 2026, encompassing 111 additional aircraft—60 A380s and 51 Boeing 777s—as part of a broader commitment to upgrade 219 aircraft. The primary objective is to achieve product consistency across the entire fleet and integrate next-generation innovations for an elevated passenger experience.

All cabins will receive new seating designs: Business Class will feature Emirates’ latest generation seating inspired by Safran’s luxurious S Lounge design, complete with thoughtful details like integrated wireless charging and customizable lighting. Premium Economy receives advanced Recaro seating with mechanical recline, while Economy Class benefits from new lightweight Safran Z400 seats with an adjustable eight-way headrest.
A major technological enhancement is the installation of Panasonic’s cutting-edge Astrova inflight entertainment (IFE) platform. This system features 4K OLED HDR10+ displays, Spatial Audio, and powerful 67W USB-C charging at every seat. The IFE also integrates a personalized content recommendation engine linked to the Skywards program. The modernization efforts, managed by Emirates Engineering, will also include the concurrent rollout of fleet-wide Starlink Wi-Fi connectivity, accelerating the delivery of a fully upgraded experience across the global network.
