Port Canaveral has reached an exciting milestone in its growth as the world’s busiest cruise port with the vertical construction of its newest parking facility. This significant achievement was marked by the placement of a massive 36.7-ton pre-cast concrete wall section for the upcoming Cruise Terminal 6 East garage. Representing a 93 million dollar investment, this 13-story structure is the most complex parking project in the port’s history and is on track to welcome guests by fall 2026.

The new facility is designed with the passenger experience in mind, encompassing over 1.2 million square feet. To ensure a smooth journey from car to cabin, the garage will feature eight extra-large elevators tailored for travelers with luggage, twin two-lane ramps to expedite traffic flow, and a convenient pedestrian bridge leading directly to Cruise Terminal 5. Once completed, the project will bring the port’s total capacity to nearly 17,500 parking spaces, reinforcing its status as a premier choice for the 75 percent of passengers who prefer to drive to their cruise.

This project also highlights a strong commitment to the Central Florida community, as the contract was awarded to local partners Ivey’s Construction and Finfrock Construction. CEO Captain John W. Murray emphasized that this infrastructure is a vital part of the Port Canaveral Advantage, a billion-dollar capital improvement program aimed at enhancing terminals and technology over the next five years. By investing in these high-quality facilities, Port Canaveral continues to provide a world-class gateway for the millions of travelers who sail on the most advanced ships in the industry.
