The culinary scene in the Philippines has achieved a magnificent milestone with the unveiling of the first-ever Michelin Guide Philippines roster. This inaugural edition, covering the Greater Manila Area and Cebu, celebrates the nation’s vibrant gastronomic identity and officially places its restaurants on the elite global dining map.

A total of nine Filipino restaurants have proudly earned the coveted Michelin Star distinction. Leading this historic achievement is innovative Chef Josh Boutwood鈥檚 restaurant, Helm, which was hailed as the Philippines’ first and only establishment to secure the highly prestigious Two Michelin Star rating. This distinction recognizes the restaurant’s excellent cooking that is truly worthy of a planned detour.

Additionally, eight other outstanding restaurants achieved the One Michelin Star distinction, signifying high-quality cooking worth a stop. These celebrated establishments are Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inat么, Kasa Palma, Linamnam, and Toyo Eatery. International Director Gwendal Poullennec lauded the move, noting that Filipino cuisine is “bold, cherished, deeply personal,” skillfully harmonizing flavors to create comforting yet exciting dishes.

The Guide’s selections also highlight the dynamism of the new generation of Filipino chefs, who are shaping a modern yet rooted culinary era. Furthermore, the Guide recognized 25 establishments with the Bib Gourmand distinction, an accolade for offering high-quality, three-course meals at a reasonable price. This broad recognition, determined by a body of independent inspectors using five key criteria, validates the creativity, authenticity, and flavorful depth of the entire Philippine dining landscape.
